Changed Culture

Tonight I was able to convince my wife to watch one of my "black & white" movies to close the day. She did not regret it, for there is some special quality about those old movies that leave you with a warm sensation of enjoyment. Watching it made me ponder and shake my head at how much our culture has changed in less than 100 years. Maybe I am just an old fashioned romantic, but I still think a three piece suit is sharper than anything we have in our wardrobes today. The women were charmingly beautiful, and the attitudes portrayed in the movies (probably not indicative of society) were genteel, innocent, naive, and harmless. Things have changed, and our portrayal and perception of our daily lives have changed. I wish we could have held on to a few things. I wish we still had the desire to wear suits and dresses most of the time, but only because they look sharp, not to impress. It is still amazing how cultures change.
